About RR BBQ

My dad’s nickname given to him by his fellow pipefitters in the 1990s was Rusty Rench. He worked at Texas Instruments for about 15 years, and his buddies knew how to turn a phrase on a last name. Like well used wrenches can get rusty, and bless generations through every turn of the wrench, so Rusty Rench passed down a love for Jesus, ice cream, and BBQ to his kids, and hopefully to generations to come. My dad really ventured into BBQ when we left Texas and moved to Oregon in 1997. My dad found out that the BBQ in Oregon was, shall we say, different, so dad made his own little BBQ corral and smoker area in our backyard. Over the years, he got pretty good at some meats, especially Tri-tip. From there he got into making his own seasoning, and you can now see how Rusty Rench now lives on in his son’s BBQ.
